Medford First Christian Church Awarded $10,000 Grant to Support Local Food Projects
Medford, OR – [June 19, 2024] – Medford First Christian Church is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a generous grant of $10,000 from Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation. This grant will significantly bolster the efforts of our local food projects in providing essential food and resources to individuals and families in need within our community.

Addressing Food Insecurity
With this funding, First Christian Church will be able to sustain and expand its services. This grant will enable us to purchase fresh produce, through its weekly Community Dinner, ACCESS Food Pantry and Come-Unity Garden.  Funds will be used to provide dairy products, proteins, and other essential groceries that are vital for a healthy diet. Additionally, the funds will support the rehabilitation of the garden box area and machinery upgrades.

Empowering Our Community
“We are deeply grateful to Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation for their continuing, generous support,” said Rev. Stacy Shelton, Pastor of First Christian Church. “This grant will not only allow us to serve local families but also help us to improve the quality of the food we provide. It’s a tremendous step in our mission to combat food insecurity in Medford.”

Join Us in Our Mission
We invite members of the community to join us in our mission to feed our neighbors in Medford. Whether through volunteering, donating, or spreading the word, your support is invaluable. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that no one in Medford goes hungry.
